Spekki Chris now in 3d

One of the great things about Fatherhood is the ability to see the world through someones eyes that haven't become accustomed to magnificence of the world. I will never forget my sons first reaction to the local fair in Macclesfield to him it was the pinnacle of cool an awesome display of colour, lights, smells and sounds - to me it was a faded and run down waste of money.

Sometimes though as a miserable, grumpy old man you can be surprised by the world in unexpected ways and this was certainly the case when an EP dropped through my door from a good friend Spekki Chris (this is his stage name obviously his real name is Cawisss!) his first EP 'Spin Cycle'. What amazed me more than anything was that Spekki was singing and playing the guitar and it was pretty damned good. Now I remember his guitar being dragged wherever we went including lads trips to Anglesey and a very memorable trip to Amsterdam and my last memory of Spekkis' playing was going through ZZ-tops Eliminator and trying to learn a song and Chris saying that each track was unplayable. Time moves on and to my utter shock and amazement while other members of our happy little group had made careers, families and forgotten or changed our hobbies, Chris had continued to play and now sing. Indeed my childhood dreams of drawing for a living had certainly been scuppered for a career in Web Design in Macclesfield.

Now, apparently, Spekki is in 3d and has jumped on that particular popular band-waggon and has embraced the 3d annoyance with some spiffing cover art for his new album now in 3d.  Taking the artwork and the free 3d glasses aside the music is pretty damn good and I urge you to go and buy yourself a copy. If not for his sake then for mine as you definitely need some amazement to shock you into realising that life isn't visible from behind a keyboard.
